Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove their stems.

Place the strawberries in a large pot.

Sprinkle the granulated sugar over them, cover the pot, and refrigerate overnight.

The next morning, place the pot on the stove and start boiling over medium heat.

Boil while stirring occasionally until the strawberries release their juice and the mixture reaches jam consistency (about 40-50 minutes).

When it starts to thicken, add the lemon juice and boil for a few more minutes.

While hot, pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal them.

Let it cool at room temperature, then store in a cool, dark place.
