Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and mash them in a large bowl.

Add the butter, milk, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes and mix well until you get a smooth mixture.

Butter a baking dish and sprinkle the bottom with some breadcrumbs.

Spread half of the potato mixture in the baking dish, leveling it well.

Add the diced cooked ham and cubed mozzarella on top of the potato layer.

Cover with the remaining potato mixture, leveling the surface.

Sprinkle the remaining breadcrumbs on top and add a few butter flakes.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes, until the surface is golden.
