Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Mix until just combined.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared heart-shaped pan.
Add a few drops of red food coloring to the remaining batter and mix until you get a pink color.
Spoon the pink batter over the plain batter and swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.
Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, dust the top with a little powdered sugar before serving.
