In a large bowl, mix the minced beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, chopped parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Shape walnut-sized meatballs.

In a large frying pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil and sauté the finely chopped onion until soft.

Add the tomato passata and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Gently add the meatballs to the sauce, cover, and cook over medium-low heat for about 30 minutes, turning them once halfway through cooking.

Serve the meatballs hot with an extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
