Kumquat: quick compote

Ingredients

Fresh kumquats200 g
White sugar50 g
Water100 ml
Lemon juice1 tsp
Cinnamon stick1 small

Instructions

Wash and thinly slice the kumquats, removing the seeds.

Place the sliced kumquats in a small saucepan along with the sugar, water, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick.

Bring to a boil over low heat and let simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the compote becomes syrupy and glossy.

Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Serve the kumquat compote on yoghurt, toasted bread, or simply enjoy it by the spoonful.
