Slice the fresh jalapeños into thin rounds.

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk to make an egg wash.

In another bowl, combine the plain flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Dip each jalapeño slice into the egg and milk wash, then coat it in the flour and cornmeal mixture.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat.
