Yellow onions600 g
Extra virgin olive oil2 tbsp
Unsalted butter1 tbsp
Brown sugar1 tbsp
Salt0.5 tsp
Balsamic vinegar2 tbsp
Instructions

Peel and thinly slice the yellow onions.

Heat the extra virgin olive oil and unsalted butter in a large pan over medium-low heat.

Add the sliced onions and salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes until the onions are soft and golden.

Add the brown sugar and continue cooking for another 10 minutes, stirring often.

Pour in the balsamic vinegar and cook until the liquid reduces and the onions become sticky and caramelised.

Serve the caramelised onion on bruschetta, burgers, or as you prefer.
